There have been a number of cold morning this December, and on Monday I was able to capture this lovely sunrise. Its warmth in colour tones belies how cold it was. The image does not capture the breeze that was blowing bringing cold air directly from the continent over the North Sea.
The good thing about dawn at this time of year is that it happens at a relatively civillised hour - even so I was standing for about and hour waiting for the sun to rise. It was amazing to see the golden edge of the sun appear above the sea and then to develop into a golden ball of sunlight - a new day was here!
