There is something incredibly exhilarating about bearing witness to the intensity of a storm at sea.
This image shows waves that must have been soaring a powerful 20 feet high and were crashing destructively against the pier and the lighthouse at Blyth. The noise was deafening!
Although I didn’t spot him at the time when this image was taken, in the foreground a lone black backed gull can be seen flying perilously over the treacherous waters below.
