Lilburn Tower at Sunset. This image derives its name from the unquestionable yet surreal depth of colour and heaviness of cloud hanging over the distinct castle ruins at Dunstanburgh. In stark contrast, in 1797 JMW Turner used watercolour to capture this same tower at sunrise. 210 years later, the silhouetted image remains unmistakable.
