I love poppies - always have and in the summer I go in search of poppy fields in Northumberland. It's always best to go out west towards Hexham.
This year I found a field of barley strewn with the red jewels of poppies.
This image was taken just to capture the fragility of the poppy, within a few days it will have shed its petals and will be gone ...... until next year.
