The next morning we left Husavik and headed south to the Mývatn area. I had read that this area was full of hot springs and lakes. We reached the Hveir area and came across a totally other world view. This image is one of the power plants that takes the heat directly from the ground.
As soon as you got out of the car the smell of sulphur was overwhelming, it was a very windy day as you can see from the direction of the steam.
