As we drove towards Skaftafell we could see the white of two glaciers in the distance. As we got close to the first one we saw a gravel road that lead towards the face of the ice. The road was rough and winding and led to a glacial lagoon. The water was milky and full of sediment.
A path clung to the edge of the mountain, it was only wide enough for one person in places and as we climbed it, this was the view we got.
This glacier was full of crevasse's and was much more dangerous than the one we had walked on the day before. As we walked upward we could hear ice melting and chunks falling into the water.
